Through a variety of events, the student forum provides opportunities for Rice students to gain exposure to and explore current policy issues, with the goal of encouraging all to contribute their voice to our nation's discourse. Our programming spans from informal student debates about policy to intimate roundtables with renowned Baker Institute fellows, from public policy and professional workshops to an annual undergraduate policy competition. Our members share a curiosity about vexing policy challenges, articulate diverse perspectives, and are willing to test new ideas in exciting, welcoming forums. We hope that BISF encourages Rice students to develop a further interest in policy issues both inside and outside the classroom. The BISF is excited to hosting a range of events this year, and we aim to provide all Rice students with the opportunity to engage with public policy in a meaningful way.
